Imperial 5000 Pillow Top Mattress

Frequently Asked Quesions

What is a 5000 Pillow Top Mattress?

A 5000 pillow top mattress refers to a premium mattress that combines a luxurious pillow-top comfort layer with a robust 5000 pocket spring system. The case of the Super Beds 5000 features two advanced layers of 2,000 AERO-TABLET® micro-springs and a supportive core of 1,000 individually wrapped pocket springs. The "5000" represents the total number of springs designed to provide tailored support and superior pressure relief across the entire sleep surface. Topped with natural wool and high-performance foams, this mattress offers a soft, cushiony feel on the surface while maintaining a firm and supportive foundation underneath.

Is a Pillow Top Mattress Good for Your Back?

Yes, a pillow top mattress can be very good for your back, especially if it's built with proper support layers like the Super Beds 5000. While the plush pillow top adds surface comfort to ease pressure on your shoulders and hips, the underlying firm 5000 pocket spring system ensures correct spinal alignment. The STABILITY+ and POLY REGEN layers work together to evenly distribute weight, minimise sagging, and support your lower back. This makes it ideal for back pain sufferers who need a balance of softness and support for healthy sleep posture.

What is the Cost of a 5000 Pillow Top Mattress?

The cost of a 5000 pocket sprung pillow top mattress can vary based on brand, materials, and size. At Super Beds, we price our 5000 Pillow Top Mattress competitively to offer maximum value without compromising quality. Prices typically start from around £359.99 for a small single and can go up to £549.99 for a super king size, including a 5-year warranty and a 60-night risk-free trial. How Deep is a Mattress with a Pillow Top?

A mattress with a pillow top is usually deeper than a standard mattress due to the additional comfort layer on top. The Super Beds 5000 Pillow Top Mattress has an impressive depth of approximately 11 to 12 inches (28–30 cm). This extra depth allows for a more cushioned, hotel-style feel while still ensuring firm orthopedic support beneath. The added depth not only enhances comfort but also contributes to longer durability and better body contouring.

Does a Pillow Top Mattress Make You Hot?

Not all pillow top mattresses sleep hot—but breathability depends on the materials used. The Super Beds 5000 is specifically designed to stay cool and fresh throughout the night. It features natural wool, which is naturally temperature-regulating, and Air+ side borders that enhance airflow and prevent heat build-up. The open-cell foam layers and ventilated design ensure that you won’t overheat, making it a great choice even for hot sleepers or warmer climates. So, while traditional pillow tops may trap heat, ours is engineered to provide the cool comfort of a breathable pillow top mattress.
